Teaching + Academics
Let’s face it…I’m a huge audio nerd. I’m very passionate about tech specs, audio fundamentals, signal flow/gain staging, and understanding where sound lives and thrives in the creative process. No matter what kind of class or who I’m teaching, as someone who is consistently working in the film/gaming industry, I’m always bring my career struggles and triumphs into the classroom.

Associate Professor of Sound Design
Spatial Audio + Game Audio

Critical Listening and Ear Training
This course is a blend of the theoretical language of ‘how we hear’ and having the conversation with others about what they hear, as well as the practical ear training and listening drills. Drills test variations in gain, EQ, stereo width, compression and reverb.

Working with senior undergrad and graduate students, we learn how to mix with Dolby Atmos. Understanding the techniques of object based vs channel based mixing. This culminates in Atmos mixes for their senior thesis films.
Student Career Advancement
Through mentorship, internships, advisement, and even part time gigs, I'm constantly working with students on finding opportunities in the entertainment industry. If you’re interested in working with some very talented sound students, lets me know!
